why I like him:
I first started liking Iwata simply because he did Mitsuru's voice in Greenwood - Mitsuru was a gorgeous and magnetic character to begin with, and Iwata's husky/light tenor fit perfectly with him. Later, I acquired some Greenwood sound drama CDs as well as some of Iwata Mitsuo's CDs, and I began to appreciate his acting ability more, as well as his cracked sense of humor. XD His voice is arrestingly sexy when he's talking softly, and when he's not doing that (like when he's singing or talking loudly), he infuses his speech with such vitality that it's difficult to NOT be infected by the same enthusiasm. Iwata also does a great villain-type voice, as I found out when I heard him play Dispel in Tenshi ni Narumon (he's funny/odd for most of his time on the series, but he has some awesome evil moments). He's an average singer at best but a great actor (especially for comedic roles); Iwata is really underrated as a seiyuu and deserves to be acting for a lot more major roles than he's gotten so far.
