Below are some rather boring ^.^ guidelines you should follow to get the best experience while making your way through the M . I . S . T:
Browser Choice - All websites, not just M . I . S . T, look their best if you're using the latest version of Netscape. I've used the AOL browser and Internet Explorer a few times, and besides being a whole lot more difficult to use than Netscape's browser, they also appallingly butcher many wonderful websites. I'm in no way affiliated with Netscape, but there's no denying that their browser is the best for surfing virtually all sites.
Monitor Resolutions - M . I . S . T was designed so that even if you were at the lowest monitor resolution, which is 640 x 480 pixels, everything would fit nicely onto the screen as long as your browser window was stretched out to its full width. M . I . S . T looks fine at 800 x 600 resolution as well, but very high resolutions might make the site look "column"-ish, since all the content on the page will be confined to a table in the center of the screen. What I'm saying is that since I wanted M . I . S . T to be universal, I designed it for the lowest monitor resolutions (which is what most people have and use), but it will be fine at ANY resolution.
Fonts - PLEASE do not set your browser to use a font style and size that overrides what webmasters are using at their individual pages. Not only will that make M . I . S . T look a bit wacko, but it'll ruin countless other sites as well. I use the Geneva font, set at size number two - every computer I've worked with, Mac or otherwise, has the Geneva font, and Geneva has the added advantage of being highly legible even when bold and italic text are used at small sizes. I wanted to use size one with Geneva, but even though it looked fine on my computer other users complained that it was far too illegible on their monitors, so size two it is. ^_^
Images - To make M . I . S . T friendly to people who still have 14.4 modems, I've constructed the pages here so that they have few images to load up. Please don't complain that this makes the site boring, because I have people with slow modems to consider, and at any rate, I have a huge image vault you can peruse if you wish. Plus, it wouldn't hurt you to actually do some reading at a website. ;)
Speed - With the large amount of multimedia at this site, I don't have to tell you that higher speeds will help you immensely in downloading the larger image and sound files. Since the .wav files I made myself are distressingly large in size and I cannot compress them more than I already have, I can only hope that you have high speed connections or high patience levels. ^_^ Apologies to those with slower modems - I know it's a pain.
Sounds - If you're interested in MIST sounds, at this site I have many .wav and .mp3 files. Netscape has plug-ins for listening to .wav files, and great shareware programs for playing .mp3's are available on the Net which you can find via any search engine. If you're a Mac user like me, try MacAmp.Com for a good .mp3 player.
