29 March: ![]() (Yeah, you know the drill! I went hiking along the coast at Año Nuevo State Reserve, a coastal reserve that sits mid-way between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz on the California coast. The day was cool, strong spring winds were whipping the sea into a froth, the wild strawberries were in bloom, the sky was a bright and misty gray, all the plants were dew-gilded, the caterpillars were going to town, and I even experienced one of the LOWEST low tides I'd seen in a long time! Enjoy!) ![]() ![]() ![]() Wild strawberries blooming, in the third and fourth photos: ![]() ![]() ![]() In the first photo you can see Año Nuevo Island in the background: ![]() Who is this Dukes of Haggard asshole? XD I guess we'll never know: ![]() ![]() ![]() Portabellas in the Mist: ![]() The bench in the second photo is new. I'm not happy it was installed; it's pointless and it ruins the view: ![]() The first photo shows how low the tide is; it was much lower earlier in the day: ![]() ![]() Don't click the first photo if the dead crab above grossed you out. Also, it was sad to see how much trash had washed up - maybe it was due to the extremely low tide exposing more of the beach but it was worst I'd seen in a while: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() - Youtube video: A short movie clip of the waves at low tide.
